This beauty of the Blues is about 8 minutes long. You may want to wait to play it because it's the ultimate distraction. Perhaps second only to sex for yours truly. Enjoy.
It's that time of year. Cold beer. Cool groove. The blues they move me. I am that child of Sol. "that orbed continent, the fire that severs day from night." (Shakespeare) and it only takes the right timeing to awaken that longing to be young and full of rythym -- again. Splendid excitement that wells in the throat and strums in your heart, "Get Down!" The music brings it on and the overwhelming radiant capture of mid-day sustains that joy, the utter magnificence of rapture that makes every other feeling turn in orbit with the base beat. Your feet move involuntarily. Yours hips answer the back beat and that smile is a long lost friend . . . genuine. The only thing missin' might be beach sand between your toes.
Father time brings us to the threshold of forgetfulness and so, when I started listening to some "downtown" licks I was overwhelmed. Try this on. Get me another beer and put the Captains on the table. Find the grind. Funk ain't enuff to do this justice.
This is Joe Bonamassa one of those gifted purveyors of the riff who moves on through the decades with seminal recognition but slaked by the notes and the feel. The player's addiction. Hell yeah, that's deep.
May your summer be as fantastic as these tiny tidbits of musica grande from mine.
Okay, but what about this?

I wish I'd done this one. I spent 3 hours in the woods a long time ago with a 505#, sedated Florida Black Bear while a GFC biologist did everything to the sleeping bear but give him a proctology exam. One of my personal best adventures. Ranks up there with natural childbirth (not mine), the first marlin, first spring gobbler and first love. Just so you know, #7 is last divorce.
