Put Your Hands In Your Pockets Boys The Fun Is Over
The ménage a`trois of Super Dupes has descended on America in full force, leading a cadre of thousands of gropers who by and large refuse even to apologize for their “manly” aberrations. The ultimate public insult would be those defending Al Franken’s behavior versus that of admitted Ivey-League genius Donald pants-on-fire—“Just grab ‘em. They love it.”
Franken made his masculine moves on a sleeping victim who had to see photos of the grope, after the fact, to decide she had been violated. Never-the less it was a show of imbecilic proportions by a man known best for his imbecilic attitude.
We’re sorry, that he has to be a Democrat. Good example of tit for tat. Meanwhile kingmaker Steve Bannon continues to grope for suppositions that might dull the impact of bible thumping Roy’s history with post pubescent girls that got him banned from the local mall. Roy may end up being the first verified incident of a direct lightning strike on a pontificating political hack while delivering a sanctimonious rant about prevaricators.
Chinese Joke Of The Week: Knock Knock Who Came Here With A Smile On His Face And Went Home With A Bag Full Of Paper Umbrellas and Chinese Handcuffs?”
POTUS came back from the Pacific rim with a basket full of hollow ass kisses and a notebook full of promises he wishes we could keep. He made demands that are impractical and go against the reality of what actually is the case when it comes to U.S trade in the Trans Pacific Partnership that POTUS yanked us out of. American exports, to the region that represents the TTP, are 12.3% of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product. That in turn represents 11.3 million jobs at home. That combined with the 14 million jobs that are at stake with NAFTA means 25 million jobs at risk and an inestimatable amount of revenues for American business and industry. Mr.Trump stop cozying up with our enemies and start showing some respect for our friends.
In the meantime, the cold war and the cyber-war continue as China grabs territory in the south Pacific and Russia’s Putin wages cyberattacks on Germany and others in Europe.(God knows what he’s cooked up for us). Russia is pushing new aspects of an arms race fostered by its old neighbor Iran and China’s stepchild, North Korea. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Let The Worker Bees Try
NAFTA meetings in Mexico City this week are being proctored by the three partner's negotiating teams while the lead players take time off to see if underlings can unearth any hidden daylight for finding common ground. Canada seems committed to digging in on concessions and yet Mexico is working diligently to find avenues for some compromise. POTUS who is a bully personally, made a stupid threat about pulling out of the agreement. Obviously, the other two countries know that the threat was a hollow bluff while POTUS believes he’s a real deal maker (?).
Pulling out of NAFTA would probably start a renewed recession. Canada and Mexico support U.S. jobs of 14 million Americans. Every day, trade amounting to $3.3 billion takes place between the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Canada and Mexico are the top two markets in the world for U.S. manufactured goods. It is doubtful that POTUS even knows those facts much less understands them. There is no remedy for the bad taste of being strong-armed into agreeing to concessions that are insignificant to the bigger picture. The Trump legacy is not gonna be pretty.
Venezuela’s Economy Collapsing
Venezuela continues on the road to oblivion. Russia has given the country a “pass” on the $1.35 billion it owes them. The Chinese did the same with its debt. This portends of serious consequences for proxied intervention by Russia: A repeat of the Soviet assault on Cuban dissidents in rebellion against Castro’s communist takeover fifty eight years ago.
This week Mary Anastasia O’Grady wrote in her WSJ, America’s column about the relatively unknown insurrection that prompted the Soviet Union to send 400 Red Army and KGB operatives, in 1961, to the Escambry mountains to begin the systematic elimination of the uprising. Were it not for the Soviet intervention it is likely that Fidel Castro would not have prevailed against these rebels who fought for six years starting in 1959 until nearly 8,000 guajiros—farmers and small land owners were annihilated, executed (1,800), or imprisoned in concentration camps in western Cuba. It took 70,000 Cuban soldiers and 110,000 militia members to defeat the rebels. Aside from the defeat and oppression, the United States put forth an inadequate effort of support for these heros and then did the same failing thing to the Bay of Pigs invaders in 1961; abandoned them. It took Castro and the Soviets until 1965 to subdue the rebels of the Escambry and The U.S. along with its press/media never told this story. Shameful.
Venezuela can’t feed or care for its people. They are already starving and dying for lack of medical care and food. There is no relief in sight. The next step is the Stalinist model of purging. Satellite communists are capable of the worst. It’s happening again to our Americas neighbors. Shameful.

It’s funny how the national media decides what’s news and what’s newsworthy. Our country’s unemployment rate is the lowest it has been since December of 2000. However, wages haven’t changed. I can’t say that I have seen anything on a national network discussing this great recovery from a recession that lasted almost eight years.
Obviously, if it had been media-plied Pants-On-Fire would have been beating his chest and claiming that his immigration policy had given American businesses so much encouragement that they started hiring again. Just imagine after the 2018 national elections we will have a one-party Congress, and they will have been elected freely not by coup de tat. Wonder what all those people who said: “At least we didn’t get Hillary.” after the 2016 election will be saying then?
One thing that would give renewed confidence to the U.S. business and industrial sector would be if POTUS Tweeted “Goodbye” and meant it.
A final visit to the desperate dilemma GOP operatives find themselves in: The President makes them all look dumber than dirt with his runny mouth, and they validate everyone’s disgust for the party, and POTUS, by their inability to orchestrate a consensus.
Steve Bannon’s silly empire of rightist conservatism is much ado about nothing as proven by the hatchet job just done on their showcase candidate from Alabama, Judge Joe the bible thumper. It appears the judge was thumping more than the good book during his time as state attorney general. One good bet for the near future is that the people will be sending a good portion of the swamp dwellers home. What we get as replacements will, unfortunately, depend on where the support money ends up. We should start thinking about that, and while doing so, we should ignore the media as they try to lead us by the nose.
America is the greatest country on earth. Where else could people elect a buffoon president and have grassroots elections turn against his party overwhelmingly in less than a year after his inauguration? Do you understand what that says about us? And where else would the economy be growing at a near-record pace while the Congressional party in control is unable to posit any of its legislative changes? Where else in the world is there a republic that is so masterfully conceived that government can at least be corrected through the multiple means of law? And be kept within the limitations of its function by that same instrument of law?
Technological Hot News:
Twitter has increased the number of characters allowed in its messaging to 280. What that means for me is that I don’t have to keep gutting my thoughts to get some semblance of good sense written and sent. I know, the logical question here is what it will mean to POTUS? More very-verys and more Really-Reallys.
How about that “No News” silence coming out of China with POTUS today?
To The Victor Go The Spoils:
The latest from the Golden Hair Safari to the Far East is that POTUS took away a bag full of tiny paper umbrellas with “Trump-Xi Buds” printed on them. He also got a steamer trunk full of parchment pages filled with promises of trade deals, many of which are already advertised, but few have been converted to true commitments. He also got bags of knocked off Titleist NXTs and seven hundred pounds of firecrackers. The customs declaration was for $250 billion which doesn’t come close to the current estimate of the Chinese-U.S. trade deficit estimated to be over $347 billion from 2016.

Did Someone Say Embargo?:
Here’s the latest mashup on Cuba. POTUS has decreed that no one from the U.S. can go individually to Cuba for any reason but one: It must directly involve an activity that benefits the Cuban people. (That of course, would be an invasion.) Those who go with organized tours conducted by approved U.S. businesses and or tour companies are not allowed to spend money with island businesses that are owned by the Cuban military. That’s a difficult discrimination because those concerns don’t identify themselves with a red star or sentries out front.
A tourist visa costs $75 and is collected by the Cuban government. Cuba created a special currency just for tourists, or anyone else who isn’t Cuban and visiting. They have arbitrarily valued their “blue coin” tourist peso at $1.27. The peso that lucky citizens of the country get to use is worth ten cents on the dollar.
I get the feeling that Mr. Trump thought this up on his own. I do not think he knows much about Cuba. If he did, he’d ban travel there completely and include travel by everyone else in the world. Now there’s an embargo for you. The Cuban military owns every hotel, restaurant, bar, tourist attraction (Including Hemingway’s estate) and all tourist transportation on the island.
I think POTUS should demand that Cuba send all of its citizens who don’t work for the government to Venezuela. That would be close to thirty-seven percent of the workers in the so-called private sector. They already have 31,000 doctors and dentists there for which they get in return 100,000 barrels of crude oil a month. Additionally, they have 4,500 intelligence and military personnel there showing the socialist government generals how to steal from the people’s government-owned assets and how to manage complainers. No one knows what the Cuban government gets for that “help.”

Clueless POTUS Bullies NAFTA
Pants-on-Fire is showing just how knee jerk ideas that have a certain panache of the tongue turn to ca-ca when exposed to sunlight. From the standpoint of agriculture and business both countries have a common thread that balances jobs and economic benefits from reciprocal trade between the U.S. and Mexico. Farmers and ranchers in the states exported $17.9 billion to Mexico in 2016. Close to 5 million U.S. jobs rely on trade with Mexico in jobs from auto manufacturing & parts to heavy equipment, oil & gas, and food processing. Additionally, the service support of marketing, financial and intellectual property are also included. The ruse that Mexico steals America’s jobs is fake news and dead posturing left over from the campaign trail.
POTUS’s bullying, is leaving a bitter taste for America across our trade and international relationships. He told a luncheon gathering of Republican Senators last week that he was having his NAFTA team notify Canada and Mexico that the U.S. is leaving the organization. This would initiate a six month window for negotiations and force the two NAFTA partners to concede on demands. The not so brilliant part of this “take it or leave it” strategy is that there are numerous probable trading partners who would rush into the void and millions of U.S. jobs and billions of dollars in revenues for U.S. companies that will be flushed because you-know-who’s nationalist advisors fed him a bunch of hooey about protectionism.
Imagine, if you will, when Trump makes this withdrawal announcement how many contracts and purchase orders, and production orders will be cancelled by U.S. firms. Then when the loss tally comes bubbling to the surface and Trump fumbles with a lame blaming apology. Who’s gonna pay these people the money they lost over a poorly thought out “negotiation strategy”? And finally whose going to pay the tariffs on imported goods that we are manufacturing in Mexico? So much for the big deal tax reform. Excuse me. This is no strategy. It is a one man pissing contest. Don’t be surprised at the recession that comes swooping down on our good fortune. Too bad stupidity isn’t an impeachable offense.
And what will Mexico have to say?

The Last Word On Whitefish Energy
Last week I wrote about the hurricane aftermath in Puerto Rico. I got that lead from an article in Vanity Fair magazine. They appeared to be first in releasing this particular information regarding Whitefish Energy, a small electrical contractor with two employees, The owner and his son. The contract was for 300 millions dollars. Additionally the payroll rates for electrical workers specified by Whitefish (and published by Vanity Fair) were what I couldn’t help having a “WTF!” moment over.
Consequently I looked at a dozen other articles for the same revelations but for some reason, the copycat repeaters did not mention the factors that surely drove the contract amount. Satisfied that the information in the Vanity Fair article was a rarity in the public domain I went to fact-checker Snopes. They did not have any reference to this story. I queried them and the next day they acknowledged the story on its face but offered no verification of the “facts”. Well, the contract has been cancelled and some details about how it came to be have shown up but as best I can confirm there has been no mention of important details.
So, today I include an excerpt from the Vanity Fair article, written by Bess Levin on October 24th.
There’s also the matter of how much Whitefish is charging, given that Puerto Rico is bankrupt. According to the contract, the hourly rate for a site supervisor is $330 while that of a “journey lineman” is $227.88. Subcontractors, who make up the bulk of the company’s workforce, cost $462 per hour for a supervisor and $310.04 for a lineman. Nightly accommodations are $332 per worker, and food is nearly $80 a day. The Post notes that only eight contracts over $20 million have been approved for Puerto Rico by FEMA and the Army Corps of Engineers, and half of those have been for shipments of food and bottled water.
Puerto Rican managers of the state owned utility company approved this boondoggle—and Whitefish was all over it instantly. Now the U.S. Congressional Oversite Committee, FEMA and the FBI are reviewing this attempt at the latest version of Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang. You can now draw your own conclusions while whoever signed off on this is not sleeping well and has both spontaneous types of the “runs.”

In 2004 I lived on a small farm just outside the city Limits of Mt. Dora, Florida. I raised miniature cows – Zebus - and miniature horses. During a six week period Florida was hit four times by three hurricanes. First, Central Florida took a hit from the number one storm Charley. It was wet and the wind blew but we got a glancing blow, but Orlando suffered substantial damage as did the east coast. Number two was Francis that came on Labor Day. We took our hit in the middle of the night and lost power. For 48 hours it blew like hell and dumped in excess of 12 inches of rain on our area. During those two days the wind blew steadily at fifty to sixty miles an hour. My livestock stood still in my east pasture with their tails to the wind.
They didn’t appear to move despite the pelting rain and howling gale of that night and the following day into darkness. At daylight of the third day the wind subsided and the sun came out. I opened the gates to our front and back pastures and the animals, including the two horses, broke for the back pasture and ran the fence line for ten minutes. It was as though they were celebrating. Inside I was glad also that they had survived with no injuries. I had a tree on my house, two on pasture fencing and roof damage. Everyone knew my cows, but just in case, I had painted my phone number on my too little horses and they looked like some practical joke running like stampeded rodeo clowns around and around.
I was lucky that I had a well and a generator so we had water and enuff power for the refrigerator and TV. . . . We did not get full power for eleven days and the generator quit on day six. No a/c - Miserable.
I thought of this because of the ongoing news coverage of poor Puerto Rico. It is a horrific shame that those three million souls are prisoners of the aftermath of Mother Nature’s anger and the U.S. government’s shortsighted neglect. This neglect has been going on for years. Infrastructure depreciated and slowly became a disaster waiting to happen. Along the way, the culture of neglect and the shameful lack of planning has created a massive block of debt that can’t be serviced. Puerto Rico is bankrupt. The United States Congress has oversight of Puerto Rico’s financial and governmental operations. Obviously, as is so evident these days, Puerto Rico was not a high priority or even a line item of concern for the folks in D.C..
Presently the island has $48.6 billion dollars in outstanding bonds. Now investors are dumping the bonds and the island government is desperately trying to find suckers to come there and rebuild the electric grid, the potable water supply, the wastewater treatment facilities, and the decimated road system.
Meanwhile 3 million Puerto Ricans slog around in debris fields drinking river water and mountain runoff, (Where the hell are they taking a crap?), standing in line for medical treatment, and spending nights in near total darkness. Roads from one end of the island to the other are washed out and much of the damage is inaccessible. Can you imagine why a minute number of people are complaining? And, can you imagine the hell that would be raised if the same situation was taking place in Florida???? Over five weeks without electricity? I’m sure that by now you’ve heard about the usurious, clip job, contract accepted by the Puerto Rican governor from Whitefish Energy which is being investigated by the Congressional Oversite Committee, finally. Frankly the members of the Oversite Committee who were overseeing the island’s journey into bankruptcy should be sentenced to debtor’s prison for the crappy job they did for our Puerto Rican citizens prior to the double hurricane hits. What’s the best our government can do? Our president goes down there and throws rolls of paper towels at a room full of locals.

The House of Representatives voted on a budget this week. Agreement though slim indicates that Republicans in the house may have overcome divisions that were holding up the revisions to the tax code. The vote was 216 For versus 214 Against.
That reveals a pretty well defined potential loggerhead for changes not just for taxes but health care, immigration, and a laundry list of other political sacred cows. As the wind blows that also means that on any given Wednesday the vote for free donuts on Friday could go either way.
It’s no wonder that the Senate can’t get anything done when the POTUS has guaranteed a stalemate with his public relations gambits for making friends and influencing people. It will be interesting to see after all the huffing and puffing which politicals from across the aisle and within the Republican mutiny cadre switch their support to President pants – on - fire. Just kidding.
Wait, does that mean that there will be no tax changes, no replacement for Obama Care, no immigration reform, no wall? No NAFTA (looking probable) which means no apple growers’ votes for 2020? Is this the end of democracy as we know it? Are we going to join the Council of America’s Banana Republics?
There goes the lowest unemployment in years, a growing stock exchange, GDP increases despite all those foreign cheap products and unfair trade practices.
My God what are we going to do when Trump gets his way? Unfortunately, aside from rounding us all up and putting us behind barbed wire how’s he gonna make all of us give in?
Then we have the over financed, inadequately motivated, impossibly tenured career politicians that we continue to vote into exorbitant paychecks and life time positions that serve but one purpose, personal financial security and a soap box for wacky ideas, or no ideas at all. Maxine Waters, we couldn’t do this without you.

Vladimir Putin warns President “Pants –on-Fire” not to force “the Rocket Man” into a corner. Then he announces plans to re-ignite the Cold War and the nuclear arms race. Meanwhile the United States has been changed dramatically since Mr. Trump took office. The Congress is at a virtual standstill except for its penchant for spending money. China’s leader has put the blueprint for Orwell’s modern version of 1984 on the table. President Xi has centralized his grip on the country’s 1.2 billion people and plans to have the entire population on file and readily identifiable by iris recognition before 2032. The Central government will take an ownership interest in every industry, business, and all companys. They will impose controls that override all other decision making.

In our own backyard Cuba prepares to hold a farcical transition from the Castro dictatorship. They are holding “show” elections at the beginning of next year, which on a local level are, for the first time in history, open to non-party members. The communist Party is the only political party allowed in Cuba. Non-party candidates are not permited to advertise, gather publicly, or otherwise campaign for office. That’s the essence of the beatific “Revolution” that has held 11.4 million citizens prisoner since 1959. This is going on in our back yard. 90 miles from our border. John Kennedy agreed in writing that the U.S. would never invade Cuba. How many dozens of times have the Russians violated agreements with the U.S.? How many invasions (Ukraine directly) have the Russians sponsored or participated in?
After going to Cuba two years ago I had very strong feelings of optimism for the Cuban people. I was naïve`. The state does not allow individuals to compete with state owned businesses. The state owns all of the tourism businesses, all of the restaurants, all of the transportation operations, and all of the hotels. They employ 62 % of working Cubans
I felt that if the Cuban people were exposed to free market activity they would obviously be better off financially and they would begin to gain a confidence about their personal futures. It would not take long before the population would recognize how oppressed they have been at the hands of the communists. That is foolish optimism at work. The only ones in Cuba who benefit financially from the U.S. tourism flush are the Communist Party and its operatives. What entrepreneurs reap is a pittance by comparison. This is a criminal regime. Wherever there is criminal contempt in Latin America the Cuban government is there to show the perpetrators how.
Cuba produces record numbers of medical doctors for one reason. They send them out to foreign countries (like Venezuela) and use the income they produce to offset trade deficits. Medical care in the country itself is archaic. People who go to public hospitals must get food for themselves from the outside. Medicines are scarce and in rare cases are expensive. Staples like aspirin are not available at the hospital. Beds don’t have sheets. You can easily see why medical care in Cuba is free.
The other place where communists have begun to finish enslaving their people (7 million) is Venezuela. That cadre of communists has depleted its resources and borrowed so much that they are selling off assets like a fire sale while defaulting on international debt. This past Sunday they held local elections for the country’s 25 regional governors. Pre-election polls indicated that if 60% of the electorate turned out the opposition would trounce the Madura government- possibly by as much as two to one—more than 60 % did turn out. Instead the opposition won five seats. Everyone believes that the election was stolen by fraud. Polling places were moved without notice; many at the cities’ polls were slowed down purposefully, and the state “counted” and certified the vote.
The Cuban government has played a major role in orchestrating the dictatorship of Nicholas Madura. The Russians, Syria, Iran and the Chinese have financed and traded heavily with the Venezuelan government. Russia is owed so much money that Madura is about to give away the country’s interest in Citgo oil. What are we doing to stop them?
Will Venezuela Become a New Cuba?
What are we doing for these innocent, unfortunate people of the Americas?
We are beating up Mexico right now over NAFTA. Ask American businesses what they think of NAFTA. An awful lot of our corporate players manufacture and operate successfully in Mexico. This was our idea in the beginning. Now we want to get out of the agreement.
We want to deport young people who are improving their lives and living their American dream because they came here as children with their parents illegally. This is how we treat innocents who better themselves and improve our country in the process.

The President, by executive order, has cut subsidies to ObamaCare insurors by about $ 7 billion for the coming year. However, the total of subsidies were expected to be at an all-time high of just over $42 billion. This is the logical way to begin to reverse the inherent damage to both healthcare delivery and the financial deficit. The medical profession and its institutions have pared down medical treatment categories and parameters to offset the arbitrary fee schedules for delivery of treatment and care. These are areas of vital concern that have not been addressed or revealed to the public in media forums or by our governmental representatives.
ObamaCare has become a political football for politicians. However, for those forced to enroll it has become a reality nightmare. Complying with ObamaCare fee stipulations is strangling treatment providers who are being cut out because of ObamaCare provisions that allow primary physicians to dictate treatment protocals that affect the doctor’s share of treatment fee schedules.
ObamaCare was a nightmare when it was rushed through a Democratic controlled Congress. Allowed to continue it will certainly be a tax horror for the United States taxpayer of the future.
POTUS continues to morph from wacky to scary. It is the players in the background that the country owes for its safe journey through this unbalanced phenomenon. If it weren’t for the members of the Cabinet and the effusive, (See his press conference from Thursday) gatekeeper, four star General John Kelly, whose patriotic commitment and level heads maintain at least the outward appearance of “normal” to the otherwise rudderless calamity taking place in the Whitehouse.
Asked what are President Donald Trump’s biggest frustrations these days, Kelly shot back, “one of his frustrations is you. All of you, not all, but many of you. It’s astounding to me how much is misreported. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you’re operating off of contacts and leaks, whatever you have. But I offer to you the advice that, maybe, develop better sources.”

Tittle was my personal football hero and responsible for my conversion to professional football fan. I was still in the Navy while he played the best of the last years of his career for the New York Giants. He weighed 190 pounds and wore high top cleats. He was a tough guy and took unbelievable punishment from a game he loved. He could throw the ball with the best of them – today or back then. He also possessed that touch of finesse that was his signature. He took the Giants to three Division championships. He threw 36 touchdowns in 1963 and the year before he tossed seven touchdowns against the Redskins. That record has been tied many times but never broken. He played his college ball for LSU and carried them to two SEC championships. His nickname then was “Slick”. His pro career resulted in an MVP and seven Pro Bowls, even though he never won the big crown. Joe Namath joined the Jets the year after Y.A. retired.

Meanwhile, manufacturing in the U.S. is the highest it has been in 13 years. On the farm front, pork prices continue to drop. Funny, even with a pig glut the cost of bacon has stayed high. The Department of Agriculture claims that pork bellies are down 50% because of the overall increase in inventory. Prices for pork have dropped 40% since July and the only relief appears to be exports to Mexico and the Pacific Rim. Rumor has it that Mexico is raising the bacon import tariff 28% as soon as the U.S. exits NAFTA.

In Cuba, Raul is retiring in February next year. Many want to think that he will continue to rule behind the scenes. However, most of his family already lives in Italy and his multimillion dollar fortune is posited in Europe.
Recent tourist numbers are vague since POTUS made his obligatory “up yours” declaration in June. At that time U.S. tourism was at an all-time high in May when 300,000 people visited the island just before President Trump made his annoucement that the agreements from Obama’s visit in 2014 were canceled. The truth is most of the aspects of that current détente are still in place. One change that defies regulation is that tourists cannot patronize tourism based businesses such as hotels and resort areas owned by the Cuban military—which owns most of the tourism businesses on the island. Rumor has it that a new satellite will be put in position to track U.S. tourist’s movements in Cuba. The CIA will then audit passports and payment methods to accumulate charges to be brought against travel violators. This new agency called Snope You’re It, will be funded as part of the Great Wall project. Funds are expected to be approved by the current Congress sometime close to when snowballs in hell appear as global warming ceases.
Mollie Hemingway gave a speech in September at Hillsdale College that is the definitive treatise on “Russian Collusion.” Regardless of your feelings about the President you will be both surprised and informed about the influence and manipulation that has taken place and focused on the Trump administration since coming to office. This presentation shines the light of evidentiary truth never before offered and proves many things alleged both by the president, his administration, and the right. Click Here for her speach in its entirety.
This “expose`” is very dramatic. It underlines the unfortunate fact that despite all the real collusion, lies, and political corruption revealed, the President by his ongoing actions is in fact, his own worst enemy.
God bless America and God save us from ourselves.

Changing History – Feel Better Now?
Erasing reminders of the past is not the way to correct historical mistakes. Human behavior is the only guarantee for resolving the pall of inhumane events. The Jews are the best example of that painful indulgence. They have preserved those God awful places where wholesale extermination took place. They have erected museums with the tradgedy on display. Those are the things that humanity should never forget.
The United States is unique in many ways. This right to speak one’s mind, to protest and complain, to disagree, is inviolate. This assured privilege comes with responsibility and that may be the most important aspect of the greatness of America.
Our great country is changing. That observation can be found in more than one news story today. The reason for this change is a political one. I’m saddened to have to include the divisive behavior of our president as the apex of this phenomenon. The national media is the enabler. The entrenched Congress is guilty of gross neglect. No one in the national government is making an effort to initiate a conversation with the commitment to disagree but find agreeable answers. Bullies permeate our everyday lives and our children have more than enough examples of this destructive behavior. Our mores are rotting away.
Returning to Earth
Let’s talk about the NFL. And let’s reference that talk with the concept: Only in America. Most of the players in the NFL got a full ride scholarship, and subsequent degrees, for their ability to play a game. This game like the other pro sports enterprises in the United States is a business. Up until today a very prosperous business. Players who possess the talent quotient, measurements, acceptable to the business model of the NFL are paid a proportionate share of the income potential of each of the franchises,(determined by what franchisees are willing to pay to enhance the team), plus their share of TV and the National Football League’s revenues.
So, before we take a knee let’s understand that the flag and the national anthem stand for the America that if you weren’t fortunate enough to have been deposited here, with your inherent gifts for athleticism, you wouldn’t be enjoying your immense salaries, your notoriety, nor your native right to defer and/or complain—about anything.
Only in America! Can’t find it or duplicate it anywhere else on planet Earth. It is indeed unfortunate that you have alienated a good portion of your fan base with your impulsive, misguided actions. However, even though you haven’t thought about it yet, you are in some pretty heady company. Immature, impulsive, selfish and whining places you right up there with the other crybaby that started this exchange. Now you know what Kim Um Jingle Jang feels like. Thank goodness you don’t have a pretend nuclear missile to throw at us.
Let me defer to a video knock down by Brandan Tatum. Many of you will already have seen it on Facebook. It’s worth watching again. Click Here Mr. Tatum has a great question for the NFL. The answer is like a bucket of cold Gatorade down the back.
The long and the short of this is; play football. That’s what you are paid to do. And show some respect to those who support your lifestyle, those who buy tickets, merchandise, and other superfluous things that benefit you in the big picture. You would have been better advised to line up and moon everyone watching on Sunday, Monday and Thursday. At least you’d gotten a laugh and everyone would be left with their own idea of what, not why, in the hell you were demonstrating about. Rednak Luvs Ya!
And, I’m watching.
This week on the Trump Watch reveals more delightful things about POTUS’s personal life. Talking with garbage mouth Howard Stern during some stellar moments about his prior career days Donald revealed that he’d felt Melania up in public. Nice . . . If you think this is acceptable news, you are part of the ugly change taking place in our collective culture.
Still watching: He and his playmate Kim Um must not be talking to each other this week. Of course, the week is not over. Someone will throw more toys in the sandbox.
Governor Scott Outed Over Essentials Neglect
Closer to home Governor Rick Scott got lots of exposure telling how to avoid death during the tropical storm rash. His speeches were good theater until reports of deaths in assisted living centers and lack of suitable shelters for people who had no place else to go. It was horrific in highly populated areas. Relaxing building standards and neglecting storm water discharges are among other items on which he has applied reductions and/ or outright neglect. The results of those moves will show up eventually and the price tag will not be kindly.
